Biography

Co-founder and Artistic Director at OnAlti Academy, Alejandro Cabrera Cano is an enthusiastic pedagogue born in the Canary Islands, Spain.

After his soloist debut with only 8 years old, he realized his musical path was inevitable. He studied his Bachelor degree with Peter Brunt, and two Masters in Pedagogy, the second of which he studied under the guidance of Ilona Sie Dhian Ho at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. After his 3 teaching-related postgraduates, he now focuses most of the time on his more than 30 students.

He regularly participates in festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and is remplaçant at the Noord Nederlands Orkest (NNO). He has toured with numerous orchestras all over the world (China, Russia, Netherlands, Spain, to mention a few), has been principal assistant of Concertmaster at the JOFGC and a member of the National Orchestras of Spain (JONDE) and The Netherlands (NJO), apart from IOFGC (with which they recorded 2 CD’s) and many others.

Beside the orchestras, Alejandro is an enthusiastic chamber music player, and plays on an Italian violin Settimo Melloni from 1942 and a bow by W. Knopf, Dresden.
